If you live in the States, you probably love him but might not know it. And if you live in the UK, Germany, or Sweden, at some point you've probably had a crush on him.

I'm talking about the one and only blue eyed, black haired Jonas Myrin.
I met Jonas years ago in Australia at the house of Hillsong Church worship leader Darlene Zschech, and I'm sure it was my lunch tutorial of how to tie cherry stems into knots using only your teeth and tongue that made him want to be my friend for life. (I bet you had no idea how truly talented I was, did you?).
Jonas is best known in the States for worship tunes he's helped to create like Our God by Chris Tomlin, 10,000 Reasons Matt Redman, and Cornerstone by Hillsong. But in Europe, he's a pop sensation, and for good reasons. The boy can sang. No, not sing…..boy can saaaaaang.
I lived in London all of 2005, and Jonas was my flatmate. (Well, he actually lived on the top floor of the house in Parsons Green, and I lived on the bottom and we shared a bathroom, but it's just way more fun as an American to say you've had a flatmate at some point in your life). We'd write songs all hours of the night. We'd log into my American iTunes account and download episodes of Lost not yet available in the UK. We'd walk over to Notting Hill for dinner, making silly videos all the way home. After I got married and moved back to the States, we'd have a reunion in Paris with our families, marching through the streets at night, singing as we went.
If I ever had a brother from another mother….this guy is in the forever category.
He's not only one of the greatest guys I've ever met, he's also one of the most talented.
Aaaaaaand ladies, he's still single.
So feast your eyes and ears, friends, on the sights and sounds to my wonderful friend, Jonas Myrin.

xx,
I had the privilege of attending a songwriting session at the Passion Lift conference last month in which Jonas spoke about songwriting (along with Matt Redman, Jason Ingram, and Ed Cash- talk about a powerhouse lineup of songwriters!!!) My mind was blown. I think “Day of the Battle”, the acoustic version, is easily one of the best songs I have ever heard sung. Ever. That’s a cool connection that you have with Jonas- it’s almost like the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon 🙂
haha. YES. The world is sooooo small….especially in the church!
I “discovered” his music several years ago…He is now my most played artist in my iTunes – and thats not an easy feat considering I have over 400 albums on rotation. Yes the fully produced album is great, but when he strips it down to vocals, keys, and occasional strings…I get goosebumps from just how incredible he sounds.
